It was summer of 2020. The summer of covid lockdowns and I was getting cabin fever. Somehow I convinced two of my lady friends to join me on an expedition to the Gates of the Arctic National Park. 3 weeks later begins the tale of how a blonde, brunette and a redhead bushwhacked their way through the Arrigetch Peaks.
There was far more backcountry bushwhacking than climbing, epic bush plane flights with Sig (our intrepid pilot who used to fly in the Congo), grizzly encounters, off-tune singing, lugging of a 12lb tent, chossy ridge climbs, sketchy rappels and oh so much more. I'm fortunate that both AJ Jardine and Daphne De Jong were game for this adventure.
